A gift that outlasts us all
Some gifts keep giving long after they're made. A gift in your Will helps fund the research driving us toward a cure for EB — and carries your belief in that future forward, for every person with EB still to come.
"What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal."
— Albert Pine
Why leave a gift in your Will?
After you've looked after the people you love, a gift in your Will — no matter its size — can carry your values forward. Your generosity can help make a difference that continues long after you are gone: because EBRPA works through a venture philanthropy model, a bequest doesn't fund a single moment; it seeds research whose returns fund the next breakthrough, and the next. Your gift keeps working.
Every gift matters, and you never need to tell us you've left one. But if you feel comfortable letting us know, it means we can thank you — and it helps us plan the research your generosity will one day make possible.
Ways to give in your Will
Your solicitor can help you choose what suits your circumstances.
A residual gift
A share of your estate once everything else — your loved ones, your other wishes — has been taken care of. Because it's a percentage rather than a fixed sum, a residual gift keeps its value over time, no matter when it's needed.
A percentage gift
A set percentage of your total estate — for example, 5% or 10%. This lets you balance a gift to research with everything else you'd like to provide for, and it scales fairly with the size of your estate.
A specific gift
A fixed sum of money, or a particular asset such as shares or property. A specific gift is simple and clear — you decide the exact amount or item you'd like to leave.
"The great use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it."
— William James
